Application of Acid Resistant Bricks:

Acid resistant bricks are widely used for lining towers, tanks, containers, and reactors in industries such as petroleum, chemical, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, brewing, dairy, papermaking, smelting, chemical fiber, power generation, and gas. They are also applied in underground sewage channels and open ground workspaces, showcasing their corrosion resistance capabilities. Additionally, acid resistant bricks are an ideal choice for anti-corrosion and insulation linings in chimneys of thermal power plants. They find application in the chimneys and flues of industries like steel, non-ferrous building materials, and glass chemicals.

Acid resistant bricks are primarily made from quartz, feldspar, and clay, which are high-temperature oxidized and decomposed to form corrosion-resistant materials. These bricks possess excellent acid resistance, low water absorption, resistance to oxidation at room temperature, and resistance to contamination by media. Apart from hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, they exhibit excellent corrosion resistance against wet chlorine, saline water, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and alkalis of any concentration at normal temperatures.

Characteristics of Acid Resistant Bricks:

The main component of acid resistant bricks is silica (silicon dioxide). When fired at high temperatures, they form a large amount of mullite, which exhibits excellent acid resistance. Due to their dense structure and low water absorption, acid resistant ceramic tiles can withstand alkaline media at normal temperatures. However, they are not suitable for high-temperature molten alkalis.
